3 Day Blinds, Inc. has been acquired by Summit Partners

March 1998 – Kerlin advised the Board of Directors of 3 Day Blinds, a privately held retailer of home blinds, on the possible sale of the company. Kerlin worked closely with the Board to develop and complete a process which resulted in the sale to Summit Partners. As part of its engagement, Kerlin provided an opinion to the Board with respect to the fairness of the transaction from a financial point of view. Subsequent to the closing, a minority shareholder filed a lawsuit against the Board and other shareholders claiming infringement of his minority shareholder rights. Kerlin was one of the primary witnesses in the jury trial which the company and majority shareholders won and the company received damages from the minority shareholder.
