Financial Group, Inc. has aquired
Buyers Home Warranty Company/Best Home Warranty Company (BHWC).
September
2004 – Kerlin initiated the transaction
and acted as the exclusive advisor to LandAmerica in
the $21 million acquisition of Buyers Home Warranty Company/
Best Home Warranty Company (BHWC), a leading provider
and servicer of home warranty contracts in California,
Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Kerlin, on behalf of LandAmerica, conceived of the plan
to acquire BHWC, structured the transaction, and developed
and negotiated the term sheet for the deal. As part of
the closing, Kerlin also developed the BHWC business
plan for submission and approval by the California Department
of Insurance.
